Topic 6 Weekly Reflection: Blog Post #5
Hearing Cari speak about her transition from being very curious about A.I. to completely removing herself from A.I. large language models due to the ethics, environmental impacts, and equity model, was very nice to hear.
She spoke critically A.I. hallucinations that often don’t get checked, and having children’s mental health be threatened because of it. ChatGPT recently cut the gates on porn!!!! Bad bad scary stuff. She stated that people should never be giving out personal information to the large language models, as it sets that info for the bias of how they respond.

She explained bias and how bias knowledge tests for students is something that may be implemented in Canada which I believe is a really positive thing.

We had conversations about balance with A.I….but unfortunately how generative A.I. is built into everything (browsers, google workspaces, social media) and that is extremely scary.
I really enjoyed this workshop as I found it honest informative, and hopeful for laws to be put into place and around A.I. as well as school regulations. I appreciated everything the teacher has to say, and her balance of speaking of the good and bad sides, but remaining true to her understanding that we need to be aware of the negative regardless.
